Un tributo pressochè doveroso quello dedicato al the Crown Prince of Reggae che Vp ha deciso di regalarci.
Dennis Emmanuel Brown ci ha lasciato nel 1999 a soli 44 anni di età. E’ stato indubbiamente una delle voci più belle del reggae, con tantissimi pezzi iconici entrati nella leggenda di questa musica. Lo stesso Bob Marley ebbe modo di affermare che Dennis Brown era il suo artista preferito. L’etichetta ha deciso quindi di realizzare questa raccolta nel mese del suo compleanno.
Questa raccolta di Vp vede due cd con ben trenta pezzi di cover realizzate dai maggiori artisti reggae al momento in circolazione.
Il primo disco è dedicato alle tune più politiche e mistiche spaziando quindi da Words of Wisdom a Promised Land fino a Wolves and Leopards.
Il secondo disco è invece più romantico e vede canzoni del calibro di Money in My Pockets, Love Has Found Its Way e If I Had the World.
Possiamo quindi goderci la cantante R&B Marsha Ambrosius su Have You Ever, How Could I cantata da Gyptian o ancora il leggendario Mykal Rose interpretare Easy Take it Easy.
